Adobe Photoshop Basics

Part-time TAP for nondegree programs eligibility

These microcredential courses are eligible to have the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) for non-degree programs grant cover a portion of the cost of tuition, as long as you are economically eligible as follows and meet other requirements, including:

  • $125,000 for dependent undergraduate students, independent students who are married and have tax dependents, or independent students who are unmarried and have tax dependents
  • $60,000 for married independent undergraduate students who have no other dependents
  • $30,000 for unmarried independent undergraduate students with no dependents

If you believe you earn less than the amount listed in the criteria above, you should apply by completing the FAFSA and TAP applications. Please note you have a lifetime of eight semesters of TAP. These will be prorated for the number of credits you earn, but will use a portion of your lifetime TAP eligibility.

Adobe Photoshop Basics

Participants in the Adobe Photoshop Basics microcredentials will gain specialized knowledge and experience for the Adobe Photoshop ACA exam. Those who complete the four courses will be able to successfully edit images for print or digital publication. Their skills will allow them to begin a career in Media Arts or further promote their current employer.

 

The following Arts, Media & Culture courses provide an introduction to design and layout on industry-standard photo-editing software:

  • ART 104 Photography I
  • ART 105 Photography II
  • ART 222 Graphic Arts I
  • ART 252 Graphic Arts II
  • 3.0 combined GPA
  • Student is also able to take Visual Design Using Adobe Photoshop exam on campus

 

This microcredential:

  • Comprises 12 credits;
  • Is able to be completed in two semesters;
  • Costs $222 per credit, for a total of $2,544, plus textbooks and college fees;

 

These credits are stackable to a Fine Arts or Media Arts degree or certificate:
