Adobe Illustrator Basics

Part-time TAP for nondegree programs eligibility

These microcredential courses are eligible to have the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) for nondegree programs grant cover a portion of the cost of tuition, as long as you are economically eligible as follows and meet other requirements, including:

  • $125,000 for dependent undergraduate students, independent students who are married and have tax dependents, or independent students who are unmarried and have tax dependents
  • $60,000 for married independent undergraduate students who have no other dependents
  • $30,000 for unmarried independent undergraduate students with no dependents

If you believe you earn less than the amount listed in the criteria above, you should apply by completing the FAFSA and TAP applications. Please note you have a lifetime of eight semesters of TAP. These will be prorated for the number of credits you earn, but will use a portion of your lifetime TAP eligibility.

Adobe Illustrator Basics

Participants in the Adobe Illustrator Basics microcredential will gain specialized knowledge and experience for the Adobe Illustrator ACA exam. Those who complete the three courses will be able to deftly navigate the program, creating beautiful, detailed designs to begin a career in Media Arts or further promote their employer.

The following Arts, Media & Culture courses provide an introduction to graphic design and illustration on industry-standard vector graphics software used to create logos, illustrations and other graphic arts:

  • ART 222 Graphic Arts I
  • ART 124 Digital Illustration
  • ART 252 Graphic Arts II 
  • 3.0 combined GPA
  • Student is also able to take Graphic Design & Illustration Using Adobe Illustrator exam on campus

 

This microcredential:

  • Comprises 9 credits;
  • Is able to be completed in two semesters;
  • Costs $222 per credit, for a total of $1,908, plus textbooks and college fees;
