PTECH (Pathways in Technology)

PTECH is a six-year program that gives high school students experiences, practical skills, qualifications and credentials to secure rewarding careers in technology-based industries. The Southern Adirondack PTECH is a partnership between high schools, WSWHE BOCES, SUNY Adirondack and local industries.

High School Programs

PTECH students are incoming ninth-graders* who earn a high school Regents diploma and an associate degree from SUNY Adirondack at no cost to the family.

You can choose one of two pathways in PTECH: Advanced Manufacturing or Information Technology: Computer Networking and Cybersecurity.

The first two years, in ninth and 10th grades, you participate in after-school activities, summer camps, bridge activities and Project Lead The Way (PLTW)/technology courses.

In 11th and 12th grades, you spend a half-day at your high school and the other half at SUNY Adirondack. You finish high school degree requirements by the end of the fourth year of the program, graduating on track with your class.

After graduating from high school, you attend SUNY Adirondack for years five and six to complete an associate degree.
