Requirements

All students must have a high school or homeschool program GPA of 80 percent or higher, as well as approval from a school counselor or homeschool program official. (In some cases, a guardian/caregiver may serve this role.) Students have the ability to submit a request for a waiver of the above minimum requirements.

Students who want to take college-level English and math classes at SUNY Adirondack must meet certain requirements for entrance into these classes. Based on those requirements, Campus Academy students may have to take a placement exam.

SUNY Adirondack uses Accuplacer placement tests to assess student readiness for English and math classes.

A Campus Academy program official will provide more information and further guidance during each student’s intake meeting.

Quotation

I had all my requirements ... so really I’d only be going to school for a few hours and having four study halls, and I didn’t really feel like that was useful. I realized the only advancement would be college. Looking back at high school, I see kids still doing the same old things, but what I’m doing is new to me and interesting.”
