Living in Queensbury

The region surrounding SUNY Adirondack's beautiful campus is a year-round destination for travelers from throughout the United States and beyond. The region's cultural, athletic and recreational offerings are second only to its incomparable natural beauty.

Look at a map and you'll see Queensbury is located ideally, no matter your interests.

New York City, Boston and Montreal are all just less than four hours away, so weekend getaways for a big-city fix are easy. (And Glens Falls, a charming little city with great restaurants and cultural institutions, is just a few miles down Route 9, on a bus route and even walkable.) We're in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains and closely neighbor the Green Mountains of Vermont, so hiking, skiing, golfing, climbing, fishing, camping and other outdoor adventures are a short drive away. Lake George — nicknamed Queen of American Lakes, commonly atop lists of the nation's most beautiful bodies of water and frequently recognized for its environmental cleanliness — is just 15 minutes to the north. Saratoga Springs is just 20 minutes south, offering world-famous horse racing, natural springs and a vibrant downtown.
