
TRIO Upward Bound
High school graduation might seem a long way away. But before you know it, you will be moving on to the next chapter of your life. Getting a college degree will help you find a career you enjoy — and make more money.
TRIO Upward Bound at SUNY Adirondack can get you started now on the path toward college success. Meet with UB staff weekly at your home district during the school year to help you focus on your goals. We have a fun six-week summer program as well.
Get the support you need to excel in high school and plan for college — and it’s free! Plus, you can earn money for participating!
Qualifications:
- Students in grades 9-12, enrolled in Argyle, Corinth, Granville, Hartford, North Warren, Salem, Warrensburg or Whitehall high schools
- Interested in attending college
- Have parents/guardians who have not completed a bachelor's degree; or reside in a household that meets federal income guidelines
Benefits of Upward Bound
- Additional support via an assigned UB advisor and weekly academic year visit from October-May through high school graduation
- Academic support nights and tutors on staff to provide extra assistance to students
- Financial literacy events as well as assistance with completing financial aid applications, reading financial aid packages and searching for scholarships
- SAT and ACT prep
- College and career exploration activities, including assistance with completing college applications
- Participate in our annualsix-week summer program on the SUNY Adirondack campus
- Have the potential to earn a small monthly stipend!
