College in the High School (CHS)

Submit transcripts and College in the Highschool (CHS) Foundation Scholarship Applications to the College Academy Secure Portal.

* Please do not upload Certificates of Residence to the secure portal. Please email those directly to SUNY Adirondack Student Accounts at studentaccounts@sunyacc.edu. Thank you.

To apply for CHS, students must complete the College Academy Application for all the classes they would like to take; they must apply for each semester separately.

Students should select “College in the High School (CHS)” from the list of programs.

Guardians/caregivers will receive an email with a link to approve their students’ participation in CHS; the classes(es) their students selected will be listed.

Without guardian/caregiver approval, the College Academy team cannot register students for the class(es).

If students are applying for ENG 101 or a math class, they should review the “Requirements for English and Math Classes” section of the College in the High School (CHS) webpage.

They might have to pass a placement exam before they can be registered.

Taking a year-long College in the High School (CHS) course? Complete the application for the Spring semester once it becomes available.

How to request transcripts

Students who want to take college-level English and math classes at SUNY Adirondack must meet certain requirements for entrance into these classes.

Requirements for entrance into English 101:

• English 11: Regents final exam score of 85% or higher or a final grade in the class of 85% or higher

Requirements for entrance into MAT 121 (Precalc - Algebra), MAT 125 (Precalc - Trigonometry), or MAT 127 (Statistics w/Probability):

• Algebra II: Regents final exam score of 75% or higher

Students who meet the English 11 or Algebra II requirements must submit an up-to-date transcript via the College Academy Secure Portal.

Students who do not meet the English 11 or Algebra II requirements can still apply; however, registration will not be finalized until they have passed the applicable placement exam.

SUNY Adirondack uses the Accuplacer placement tests to assess student readiness for ENG 101, MAT 121, MAT 125, or MAT 127.

Information for Certificate of Residence (COR)

New York residents receive a considerable discount on in-state tuition at New York public colleges and universities.

If your student is registered or planning on registering for a SUNY Adirondack CHS course, they are eligible to receive this discount!

• Fall 2024 CORs are due by September 25, 2024.
• Spring 2025 CORs are due by February 18, 2025.

Not submitting a COR on time will influence your student’s tuition rate. Instead of $77 per credit hour, you will be charged $116.

Most Certificates of Residence are valid for one year based on semester (not by date).

Students who submit a COR for a class they're taking in the fall do not have to submit a new one for the spring.

Certificates of Residence start being issued 60 days before the start of each college semester.

Once your student has been issued a Certificate of Residence, scan and email it to studentaccounts@sunyacc.edu.

Saratoga County Residents:

Complete the Saratoga County Application for Certificate of Residence.

For instructions on how to submit the application, see the “Requirements” section on the second page of the application or visit the Saratoga County website. After classes start, you must go to the Saratoga County office in Ballston Spa.

Once your student has been issued a Certificate of Residence from the County, scan and email it to studentaccounts@sunyacc.edu.

Warren and Washington County Residents:

Complete the SUNY Adirondack Residency Form.

Scan and email SUNY Adirondack Residency Form to studentaccounts@sunyacc.edu.

Residents of Other New York Counties:

Once your student has been issued a Certificate of Residence, scan and email it to studentaccounts@sunyacc.edu.
