Student career services

Handshake is an online career management platform where you can locate jobs and internships tailored to your education and major. Connect directly with employers who are recruiting from SUNY ADK, in a more targeted job search experience compared with general job boards. You can access career events, employer reviews and network with alumni.

Handshake registration

Click "Sign Up," and enter your school email address to create an account. You will then be prompted to select your school from a dropdown menu, create a password and fill out your profile details. (Profiles are optional, but can assist in obtaining more job opportunities.)

Handshake for students

When you register, you can fill out an optional detailed profile focusing on information about your academic background. You can then receive job listings from various companies based on your interests, GPA, skills, extracurricular activities and major. This increases employment opportunities. You can also save resumes and cover letters in your profile section.

Employers on our Handshake site are vetted, ensuring that companies are interested in hiring students from SUNY Adirondack. This also ensures that companies meet the professional standards to hire students and alumni.

You can read reviews about employers from others who have written about their experiences working at specific companies.

Employers can reach out to you with job opportunities and event invitations.
 

You have access to virtual and in-person career fairs, networking opportunities and other events.
