SUNY Adirondack extends guaranteed scholarships
Scholarships open to students who complete FAFSA by July 1

QUEENSBURY, New York (June 14, 2021)—SUNY Adirondack is proud to announce an extension of its guaranteed scholarship program.
All students who apply to the college, are accepted and complete FAFSA by July 1 are eligible* to receive scholarships to SUNY Adirondack, already one of the best values in New York state. (*Some income and academic guidelines apply.)
“SUNY Adirondack wants to make this is as simple as possible for our future students: Apply and we will do everything we can to make earning a college degree affordable,” said Rob Palmieri, vice president of Enrollment and Student Affairs.
Scholarships are available for all majors, but certain populations and fields of study are guaranteed awards. Among them are all incoming students with a high school GPA of 90 and higher; all adult learners ages 24 and older; all veterans; all TRIO Upward Bound graduates; and everyone with a high school average of C+ or higher who is accepted in the following majors: Accounting, Agricultural Business; Broadcast Media Production; Creative Writing; Criminal Justice: Substance Abuse Services; Engineering Science; Fine Arts; Health Education Concentration; Hospitality Management; Information Technology: Computer Networking; Information Technology: Cybersecurity; Information Technology: Information Security; Mechatronics; Media Arts; and Nursing.
Additional guaranteed scholarships have been expanded to all Culinary Arts and education-specific programs, including Adolescence Education concentrations, Early Childhood/Childhood Education concentration, Teaching Assistant certificate, Physical Education and Outdoor Education.
“Our region has developed a reputation for having a dynamic restaurant culture, with traditional and eclectic cuisine, and everything between,” Palmieri said. “The culinary field is booming and with a full-service restaurant and state-of-the-art culinary center, SUNY Adirondack is a major training ground for these talented chefs.”
“We also value education and are committed to developing teachers of the future,” Palmieri said. “The impact of educators can’t be understated, so we’re grateful for the SUNY Adirondack Foundation to provide us the opportunity to help aspiring teachers.”
About scholarships and financial aid at SUNY Adirondack
- More than 60 percent of SUNY Adirondack students graduate debt free.
- In Fall 2020, more than a quarter of new students received scholarships.
- Eighty percent of incoming students receive some form of financial aid, including SUNY Adirondack Foundation scholarships.
