Annual ceremony marking Veterans Day features elected officials

QUEENSBURY, New York (Oct. 28, 2024) — SUNY Adirondack is proud to host its annual Veterans Day ceremony at noon Monday, Nov. 11, in Northwest Bay Conference Center, Adirondack Hall.
Fort Ann Supervisor Sam Hall will speak at the event, which will also include remarks by Assemblyman Matt Simpson, Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner, state Sen. Dan Stec and SUNY Adirondack President Kristine D. Duffy, Ed.D.
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
Included in the event is an exhibition of artwork created by SUNY Adirondack students and veterans inspired by the theme “What is a veteran?” There will also be displays by Warren and Washington County Historical Societies representing the Original Veterans upon the 250th anniversary of the Revolution, and Washington County celebrating its veterans.
Posting of the Colors and Invocation will be performed by American Legion Post No. 533 Color Guard of Corinth. SUNY Adirondack student Zachary Payant will sing the National Anthem.
