QUEENSBURY, New York (May 7, 2025) — SUNY Adirondack is proud to announce its 63rd commencement at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cool Insuring Arena in downtown Glens Falls.

The college will grant degrees to 489 students, more than 250 of whom will celebrate at the ceremony. An additional 69 students are graduating from SUNY Plattsburgh at Queensbury.

“Commencement is the culmination of hard work and perseverance with the guidance and support of our outstanding faculty and staff,” said Kristine D. Duffy, Ed.D., president of SUNY Adirondack. “We wish our graduates much success and happiness as they move on to the next chapters in their lives."

Among this year’s graduates are 12 people who earned microcredentials, certificates awarded after completing a small grouping of credit-bearing courses that signify mastery of career-specific skills. Nine of this year’s graduates earned certificates in one of the college’s programs, which include Culinary; Entrepreneurship & Business Management; Hospitality; Media Arts; and Teaching Assistant.

Eleven commencement participants are high school students in Pathways to Technology (PTECH), a collaboration between SUNY Adirondack and WSWHE BOCES in which students earn a Regents high school diploma while attending college courses in Advanced Manufacturing; Information Technology: Computer Networking; or Information Technology: Cybersecurity. They graduate high school with half the credits required for an associate degree, and have the option to stay at SUNY Adirondack to complete a degree.

Areas of study include Electrical Technology/Advanced Manufacturing; Information Technology: Computer Networking and Cybersecurity; Business and Entrepreneurship; or New Media (Graphic Design).

Student speakers at the event are SUNY Adirondack’s Diamond Granados, a Criminal Justice: Police Science major from the Bronx; and SUNY Plattsburgh at Queensbury’s Jessica Contompasis, a December graduate in Psychology and a 2020 graduate of SUNY Adirondack who works as a psychosocial rehabilitation specialist at Behavioral Health Sciences North (BHSN).
