We welcome Akhil Medisetti, SUNY Adirondack's newest IT instructor. Teaching is in Medisetti’s genes. The newly hired SUNY Adirondack instructor of cybersecurity and networking is the son and grandson of educators.

“I was inspired by them,” said Medisetti, a recent graduate of University at Albany’s Cybersecurity master’s degree program. “I’m very good at communicating what I know, sharing knowledge.”

After only a few days of being in the classroom, Medisetti already felt comfortable. “I’m fresh out of college and I know what it feels like being on the other side of the classroom,” he said. “I know what’s in the minds of the students and am able to relate to them.”

He’s also hopeful he will learn as much as his students. “I definitely think SUNY Adirondack will give me a lot of opportunity and skill,” he said. “There’s a support system here, and I can develop myself as a faculty member.”
