Drag star coming to SUNY Adirondack for scholarship benefit
RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Jiggly Caliente will headline the “Ex-Drag-Va-Ganza” drag show at 8 p.m. April 20 at the SUNY Adirondack Theatre on the Queensbury campus.
Ms. Kitten Kaboodle, Kashi Golean, Pacifica Rim, Philly Piña, Klo Armani, Jacqueline Frost, Sandella and DJ Drew Carey also will perform. During the event, the audience will have the opportunity to vote to name their favorite drag queen “Ms. SLAYADK.”
SUNY Adirondack students also will compete in a special “Vogue” dance contest with a chance to win $100.
Jiggly Caliente attracted international attention after appearing on season four of the Emmy Award-winning reality competition RuPaul’s Drag Race.
General admission tickets are $12 and can be purchased online at sunyadkdragshow.eventbrite.com. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door before the performance, if still available. Doors will open at 7 p.m.
All ticket sales directly benefit scholarships at the college through the SUNY Adirondack Foundation.
SUNY Adirondack students, faculty and staff will be admitted free, but tickets must be reserved in advance at the Office of Student Life and Diversity in the Student Center. SUNY Adirondack students also can purchase a guest ticket for $10 at the Office of Student Life and Diversity.
The program is presented by SUNY Adirondack Pride Club, SUNY Adirondack Senate, SUNY Adirondack Diversity Committee, SUNY Adirondack Faculty Student Association, SUNY Adirondack Office of Student Affairs, SUNY Adirondack HUB, SUNY Adirondack Foundation and Chartwells.
