Brightspace help

Brightspace is a great learning tool, but we know there's a learning curve when using new technology. Here, we outline some of the common issues you might face and how to remedy them.


Logging in

Book Smart Customer Care  

Barnes & Noble's Customer Care is also available to help students with questions about accessing their course material or using their eTextbook. 

Customer Care hours of operation are midnight Sunday through 1 a.m. Saturday.

Phone assistance is available from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday.

We suggest that students provide Customer Care with their name, school email address, school, course information and screenshots of the issue, if applicable. 

The SUNY Online Help Desk can assist students with most technical issues and questions dealing with Brightspace. The Help Desk offers evening and weekend support hours, as well as during regular business hours.

To speak to a SUNY Online representative, call the help desk at 1-844-673-6786 or 518-320-1300 during  support hours.

To place a written request for help:

  1. Go to the Create A Support Request page of the SUNY Online Help Desk website
  2. Click "Submit a Help Ticket" 
  3. Click "Request Service"
    • Be as specific as possible about the problem you are experiencing.
    • Include your course names or CRN codes
    • Copy and paste any error messages you received into your help request
    • Consider taking a quick screenshot to include in your help request.
    • Note that you are from SUNY Adirondack
  4. A representative will follow up with you by email.

You can also Search Your Support Tickets to view your current or past ticket submissions.
