Biography

Maxx Sweet, a proud alumn of SUNY Adirondack, has exemplified leadership since taking over the basketball program in 2021. During his tenure, Maxx has led the program to incredible success including:

  • The first winning record and home playoff appearance in 25 years
  • Four wins against top-10 nationally ranked programs
  • Eight players named to the Dean’s List, and coached the program to the highest team GPA on record
  • Top 5 finish and a first-round playoff bye in Region 3 during the 2023-24 season (advancing further in Region 3 than any other team in program history)

Maxx's graduating players have gone on to continued success after graduation.

Before taking over the program at Adirondack, Maxx spent six seasons as an assistant coach at Eastern University, Centenary University and Hiram College. At all these institutions, Maxx led national recruiting efforts and helped lead each program to continued success.

In 2023, Maxx was selected to be a head coach at the NCAA Men’s Basketball Academy in Memphis, Tennessee, coaching some of the nation's top prospects.  In December of 2024, he was named assistant director of Athletics at SUNY Adirondack.

Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Eastern University, 2016; Master's Ddegree in Athletic Administration from Northcentral University, 2020

Hobbies and interests

Maxx lives in Queensbury with his wife, Bridget, and his son, Parker. He loves watching movies and is an avid fan of the Yankees, Knicks and Bills.
