QUEENSBURY, New York (April 10, 2024) — Get ready for the fiercest night of the year as SUNY Adirondack presents Slay ADK, an annual drag extravaganza, at 7 p.m. April 13.
This year’s event, presented by the college’s Student Senate, features talents Lexxi Pro, Piper Fixation, Typhoid Mary and Matti Cation.
“Slay ADK is always an amazing event,” said Dillon Murphy, assistant director of Student Engagement & Diversity Initiatives. “The performers put on an incredible show, and the audience just eats it up, making a fun night for everyone.”
A meet-and-greet event with the performers starts at 6:45 p.m. in the college’s Theatre in the humanities wing of Adirondack Hall. The show starts at 7.
Admission is free for SUNY Adirondack students and $20 for all others. To purchase tickets, please visit tinyurl.com/adkslay24, drop in the Student Engagement office in the Student Center between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or at the door, space permitting.
Slay ADK precedes a weeklong celebration, PRIDE Spirit Week, later in the month, when PRIDE Club will host events including Queer Jeopardy!, Day of Silence Karaoke, Take a Rock Walk, Queer Movie Night and "Gaymes” with the Gaming Club.
“Showing PRIDE within our campus community helps students who are LGBTQIA+ connect with their peers and feel comfortable enough to be themselves," said Harley Bradley, Residence Life office specialist and PRIDE Club advisor. "The PRIDE Club works hard to educate and entertain.”
