GLENS FALLS, New York (Oct. 14, 2025) — SUNY Adirondack’s Business and Culinary clubs are proud to offer “Savor Your Palate” with chef Sakari Smithwick at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Seasoned, 14 Hudson Ave.
Smithwick will offer a cooking demonstration, discuss food scarcity and food deserts, and "Savor Your Journey," his new book, which will be released in December.
Smithwick is an author, entrepreneur and chef who competed on "Hell's Kitchen" on FOX and "Chopped" on Food Network. He is committed to nourishing the body through food, and providing education to improve food choices for children.
“We’re excited to welcome Chef Sakari, since so many of the issues he brings to the forefront — the economics of the food industry, and its impact on the hospitality and business sectors — are frequent topics of discussion in our Business and Culinary classes,” said Kelli Hatin, Ed.D., professor of Business and co-advisor of the Business Club at SUNY Adirondack. “His work addressing food scarcity and promoting healthy eating shows our students and community how business and culinary innovation can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives and communities.”
This event, which is free and open to the public, is presented by SUNY Adirondack's Business and Culinary clubs. Registration is not required. Parking is available in nearby garages.
