QUEENSBURY, New York (Nov. 18, 2024) — SUNY Adirondack is proud to announce renewal of an articulation agreement that allows the college’s graduates to transfer seamlessly into health care-specific bachelor’s degree programs at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
“This arrangement enables students to complete foundational coursework at SUNY Adirondack, then transition seamlessly to Upstate,” said John Jablonski, vice president for Academic Affairs at SUNY Adirondack.
SUNY Adirondack students who apply and are accepted to SUNY Upstate Medical University will be able to transfer with full junior status into health care programs including:
- Medical Imaging Sciences
- Radiation Therapy
- Respiratory Therapy
- Medical Biotechnology
- Cardiovascular Perfusion
Only grades of “C” or higher are accepted on transfer and all prerequisites must be complete before the transfer.
This agreement also includes an Early Assurance Program for high school seniors. Students accepted into this program their senior year of high school are guaranteed admission into both colleges, provided they meet the conditions of acceptance.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for students who want to go on to earn a bachelor’s degree, for those who maybe don’t know yet what they’re interested in or who need support to work at a college level,” said Jenny Postlethwaite, director of College Access and Student Success. “We are proud to work with SUNY Upstate Medical University and all our partners to ensure SUNY Adirondack students have options to continue their studies with the strong foundation they develop with us.”
