“We can’t think of a better way to welcome back SUNY Adirondack students than with Stewart’s ice cream, appropriately named Sweet Success,” said Gary Dake, Stewart’s president.

A kickoff celebration will be held on the first day of classes for the Fall 2022 semester in front of the Student Center.

“We are excited to offer students a taste of Sweet Success on their first day of classes this academic year,” said Kristine D. Duffy, Ed.D., president of SUNY Adirondack. “Stewart’s Shops and the Dake family are longtime supporters of the college, so being able to collaborate on this delicious endeavor is a lot of fun as we welcome back the campus community.”

Stewart’s Shop and The Dake Family, a fund of The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region, have given the college much to celebrate. As the college’s largest corporate sponsor, the organizations have given SUNY Adirondack just less than $400,000 to support various efforts, including the Reach New Heights campaign; the Regional Higher Education Center; help providing access scholarships for community youth participating in SUNY Adirondack’s Summer Enrichment Program; and, most recently, $75,000 in support of the college’s $5.7 million turf field project, which includes dugouts, bleachers, and a press box and a scoreboard.

The athletics field project is also supported by SUNY Adirondack Foundation; the state; Adirondack Housing Association, which owns and operates the college’s Residence Hall; Faculty Student Association; and through donations. There are still opportunities available for naming-right donations. To learn more or make a donation, please contact SUNY Adirondack Foundation at 518-743-2243 or foundation@sunyacc.edu.
