GLENS FALLS, New York (Nov. 12, 2024) — SUNY Adirondack’s Culinary students are making this holiday season a little brighter with a Gingerbread House Showcase from Nov. 19 to Dec. 13.
“This is a great opportunity for our baking students to show off their impressive skills and what they’ve learned,” said Dynia Mariano, baking and dining room instructor. “Plus, these beautiful creations are fun and really put you in the holiday spirit.”
Students’ gingerbread houses will be displayed Nov. 19 through Dec. 13 at Seasoned, the college’s student-run restaurant at 14 Hudson Ave. Visitors can purchase tokens for $1 each, then use them to vote for their favorite confectionary creations. First-, second- and third-place winners will be awarded medals.
Raffle tickets will also be offered at $5 each to be entered to win a 12-inch gingerbread carousel created by the entire class.
From 10:30 a.m. to noon Nov. 22, Dec. 6 and 13, the student artists will be available to discuss their work, and cocoa, cider and pastries will be available for purchase.
The drawing for the class-created house will be held at 1 p.m. Dec. 13.
Seasoned offers lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, and dinner from 5:45 to 6:45 Wednesday and Thursday. To learn more or to make a reservation, visit https://www.sunyacc.edu/seasoned.
