QUEENSBURY, New York (Nov. 7, 2025) — SUNY Adirondack is proud to announce its annual Veterans Day Ceremony, which will be held at noon Tuesday, Nov. 11, in Northwest Bay Conference Center, Adirondack Hall.
Keynote speaker is Amie Gonzales, chair of SUNY Adirondack’s Board of Trustees, president and project manager of Hunt Companies, and a U.S. Navy veteran.
SUNY Adirondack President Anastasia L. Urtz, J.D.; state Sen. Dan Stec, a U.S. Navy veteran; and Assemblyman Matthew Simpson will also speak at the event.
Posting of the Colors and Invocation will be offered by American Legion Post No. 533 Color Guard of Corinth.
SUNY Adirondack has a long history of honoring veterans through this annual ceremony, on-campus support groups for student veterans and, since 2022, by operating Adirondack Peer-to-Peer Support Services, A PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Project, a grant-funded effort to assist veterans in Warren and Washington counties.
The campus serves more than 170 veterans, military members or their dependents.
“Veterans Day is a time to pause and honor the courage, sacrifice and service of those who have worn our nation’s uniform,” said Jeremy Duers, coordinator of Adirondack Peer-to-Peer Support Services, U.S. Marine Corps veteran and SUNY Adirondack alum. “At SUNY Adirondack, we’re proud to stand with veterans and their families — to make sure they know this campus and community are here to support them in every chapter of their journey.”
The Veterans Day Ceremony is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
