GLENS FALLS, New York (March 20, 2023) — SUNY Adirondack and the Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls are proud to announce A Taste of the Future, a fine-dining event April 14 to benefit the local chapter of the international service club.
A Taste of the Future pairs Mean Max Brew Works beers with a four-course menu created by SUNY Adirondack’s Chef Matt Bolton. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. at Seasoned, the college’s restaurant at 14 Hudson Ave.
This event is inspired by A Taste of the North Country, a longtime downtown tasting event featuring restaurants from throughout the region that was sidelined by the pandemic, and SUNY Adirondack’s Collaborative Cuisine events, in which regional breweries partner with Bolton and his culinary students to create a menu highlighting beers and locally sourced cuisine.
"Taste of the North Country has been a staple in our community since the start of my food service career," Bolton said. "The Kiwanis organization has been a leader in our community at giving back, and we have been a proud sponsor of Taste of the North Country's demo tent and an active booth participant throughout my tenure at the college. With the pandemic sidelining the event the past few years, we can assist in recovery of the Kiwanis community goals. We love our community, and we love to give back while incorporating student education and partnering with local artisans like Mean Max."
Money raised at A Taste of the Future will benefit Kiwanis' extensive efforts within the community.
"The club is so appreciative of its longstanding partnership with SUNY Adirondack and Seasoned," said Doug Shaver, president of Kiwanis of Glens Falls. "Their assistance in presenting the annual Taste of the North Country over the years has been crucial to the great success of the event. We are eager to taste what the future brings."
Seating is limited and tickets, which are $79, are available online.
"We hope the community comes out in full support of this amazing organization that assists so many," Bolton said.
