College's series continues with presentation by Damola Ifaturoti
QUEENSBURY, New York (Nov. 28, 2022) — SUNY Adirondack’s Writers Project is proud to welcome publisher Damola Ifaturoti at 12:40 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, in the college’s Visual Arts Gallery.
Ifaturoti — owner of AMV Publishing Services in New Jersey — has had a long career in publishing, starting as a research and development editor in the 1980s in Nigeria, leading to development of AMV in 2002.
“We are delighted to host an editor-publisher with multigenre and international experience in the industry. Anyone interested in hearing about publishing from a professional's perspective is welcome to attend,” said Kathleen McCoy, an English professor at SUNY Adirondack who organized the Writers Project series.
For several years, Ifaturoti worked for Evans Brothers Publishers in Nigeria. In 1999, he moved to the United States and worked as a senior editor/editorial coordinator for Africa World Press/The Red Sea Press. In that role, he oversaw publication of an average of 120 book projects a year.
Among the titles he has worked on are scholarly works, self development, educational, personal and institutional biographies, literary works, adult fiction, drama and poetry.
“My professional experience has covered all aspects of the book production cycle, from origination through editorial to print production,” Ifaturoti said.
The Writers Project is free and open to the public. For more information, contact McCoy at mccoyk@sunyacc.edu.
Ifaturoti’s presentation is also offered live via Zoom, with a Meeting ID of 536 591 0760 and passcode 12345.
