New Media students honored
SUNY Adirondack student Ericka Wadleigh has a photograph chosen as a finalist in the 37th Annual College and High School Photography Contest, organized by Photographer’s Forum magazine.
Wadleigh, a student in the college’s New Media program, is one of 104 photographers selected as a finalist. The photo will be published in the hardcover book Best of College & High School Photography 2017.
Eight SUNY Adirondack New Media students have work accepted in the 120° Intercollegiate Regional, which opens March 4 at the Saratoga Arts Center, 320 Broadway in Saratoga Springs. Selected SUNY Adirondack students include Kasey Rypkema, Aidan Cawley, Teresa Stursberg
Kayla Albano, Kayla Hansen, Ella Kuba, Anna Burns and Brianna Hammond.
More than 500 pieces of artwork were submitted from colleges within a 120-mile radius, and 100 pieces were selected for display. An opening reception for the exhibit will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. March 4 at the gallery.
SUNY Adirondack will hold an Open House from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday to promote the college’s popular New Media program. The event, held in Washington Hall, will give prospective students the opportunity to meet the faculty and learn more about the curriculum.
Media Arts applies new technologies and channels to produce video, print, audio and other forms of digital media. SUNY Adirondack offers a two-year Applied Associate in Science (AAS) degree or a professional certificate in Media Arts.
