"I started here in the fall of 2013 after graduating from Queensbury High School. My mom, Kim Hughes, works in the Student Activities office, so I spent a lot of time there throughoutthe semester. In the spring of 2014, Heather Whitney asked if I wanted to be an orientation leader for incoming students, and from there I became much more involved in Student Activities.

I was the president of the College Activity Board; I also became a student senator and a student ambassador.

I have loved being involved with the College Activity Board. My favorite activity that was organized was the cruise to Florida and the Bahamas. About 45 of us went this year and it was so much fun.

I came to this school thinking I would pursue a nursing degree, but I quickly realized that it wasn’t for me. I finished my associate degree in Liberal Arts: Humanities and Social Sciences in December of 2015, and I will walk at graduation this May. I was surprised to find out that I had been nominated to be the student speaker at this year’s graduation, but was so honored, because my mom had been the student speaker when she graduated SUNY Adirondack in 2005.

Right now I am working full time at NBT Bank and am considering my options for pursuing a Bachelor’s degree."
