SUNY ADIRONDACK DOES NOT OFFER ANY RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY SPECIFIC COURSEWORK.

STUDENTS WISHING TO DECLARE THIS MAJOR MUST EITHER BE CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN OR HAVE COMPLETED A RADIOLOGY CERTIFICATE PROGRAM FROM AN EXTERNAL AGENCY.  STUDENTS NOT MEETING THESE CRITERIA SHALL DECLARE THE LIBERAL ARTS MATH SCIENCE DEGREE.

THIS PROGRAM INVOLVES TRANSFER CREDIT FROM AN ACCREDITED CERTIFICATE PROGRAM IN RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY.

The Radiologic Technician program is designed to provide certified radiographers a path to advance in their field. The college will equate certification from a school of radiography to one year of transfer credit (30 credits), applicable in this program only. SUNY Adirondack will provide 35 credit hours of general education course work leading to an AS degree.

The following entrance and program requirements apply:

1. Students registering for the Radiologic Technician Degree must be currently enrolled in a Radiologic Technician certificate program or have completed a Radiologic Technician program.

2. Students who are not enrolled in a Radiologic Technician certificate program and do not have a certificate from a Radiologic Technician program must register as a Liberal Arts and Science major. (There are limited spaces available in Radiologic Technician programs in New York State.)

3. Students completing the requirements for the Radiologic Technician degree who have not been accepted into a Radiologic Technician Certificate program are not guaranteed a spot in a certificate program.

4. The anatomy and physiology taken as part of the Radiologic Technician Certificate program is not equivalent to the Bio 107 and Bio 108 (Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2). Students are required to take the Anatomy and Physiology at the college as part of the degree program.
