SUNY Adirondack offers a two-year Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree and a professional certificate in Information Technology studies. Information Technology is the study of computers and telecommunications systems for storing, retrieving and exchanging the data that is the backbone of today’s digital workforce and economy.
Information Technology is a broad field that serves an important but varying role across different industry types and organizational sizes. Those choosing the Information Technology certificate track will learn to assess an organization’s I.T. needs and hone the necessary skills to support them. Classes offered through the program include Internet Development, Networking, Programming, Programming, Business and core courses in Computer Applications, Computing and Advanced PC Applications.
Students have the opportunity to choose a concentration in one of three focus areas: Application Development, End User Support or Business Management.
SUNY Adirondack offers small class sizes and access to dedicated faculty who have real-world experience in the Information Technology field. Since this program has flexibility across concentrations, the core courses are designed so that students can easily move from one Information Technology focus to another if their interest changes.
The degree or certificate from this program specifically prepares students for direct entrance to the workforce and supports networking opportunities with local businesses through structured internships and seminar presentations.
