Early College Career Academy: Business and Entrepreneurship

Get a jump start on a business degree of your choice that encourages creativity and planning for the business-like ambitious student. A pre-college program that allows you to pursue many different avenues and career paths in the field of business.

Students will engage in a combination of college courses, technical education and job skills related to the field of business and entrepreneurship. BOCES educators and SUNY Adirondack professors work together in the career academy to provide students a transdisciplinary environment that encompasses all learning styles and individual strengths. 

A strong focus of entrepreneurship sets this program apart from a traditional college or high school experience.  Working with actualentrepreneurs, along with college and BOCES educators, students will engage in work and project-based learning opportunities that provide students with the tools necessary to develop an actual business plan.

Upon completing the program, students will be presented with multiple pathways to continue their education or enter into the world of work.  Highly transferable credits obtained will apply directly to five  SUNY Adirondack degree programs, as well as most baccalaureate programs.  Student also have the opportunity to earn internationally recognized certifications in operational excellence as recognized by SixSigma which include: Strategy Development, Performance Management, High Performance Work Teams, and Process Excellence. 

Unique Features

  • Earn up to 26 credits, at no cost to the student, towards an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Accounting, Management, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship or Hospitality & Tourism Management, an Associate in Science (AS) in Business Administration or a Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Business Management

  • Every student will be provided an opportunity for 1:1 technology (e.g. Laptop, tablet, etc.) Sequence of coursework to ensure job-ready skills and certification

  • Work-based learning experiences connect students with future employers through business plan development, startup bootcamp and mentorship.
