Liberal Arts Math & Science
SUNY Adirondack offers a two-year Associate in Science (AS) degree in Mathematics and Science as part of the Liberal Arts and Sciences track.
This program helps set a solid foundation for students to transfer to a four-year institution for their degree of choice and provides a diverse education spanning courses in:
- earth science
The Mathematics and Science program will help students think creatively and generate new ideas. Invaluable skills like scientific method, thinking for yourself and problem solving are the core of this program and help students to understand the natural world around them. Further study in research, natural science, hypothesis development, experimentation, and forming conclusions builds an appreciation for exploration and learning.
Elective classes including history, humanities and foreign languages will enhance the learning experience and give Liberal Arts’ students a better understanding of what concentration and future degree best fits their personal career path.
SUNY Adirondack offers small class sizes and access to dedicated faculty who have years of experience studying the math and science discipline. Students are able to take a variety of classes that not only meet program requirements but also satisfy their personal interests. Advisors and instructors work closely with graduates to achieve their goals as they transfer.
CAREER & TRANSFER OPPORTUNITIES
This program prepares students for further education and eventual careers for in the fields of: pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, nursing, veterinary medicine, medical technology, engineer, and secondary education.
The Mathematics and Science degree is designed to prepare students for transfer to a four-year college or university, including SUNY Plattsburgh's on-campus program through the Regional Higher Education Center or any of the institutions SUNY Adirondack maintains articulation agreements with for seamless transfer, such as:
