This Concentration provides a foundational education in the sciences with a focus on Chemistry. This program awards a two-year AS degree and sets a solid base for students to transfer to a four-year institution.
This program prepares students for further education and eventual careers in several fields such as:
- analytical chemist
- chemical engineer
- healthcare scientist (clinical biochemistry)
- forensic scientist
- research scientist (physical sciences)
- veterinary medicine
- secondary education
The Mathematics and Science – Chemistry Concentration program will help students think creatively and generate new ideas. Invaluable skills like scientific method, thinking for yourself and problem solving are the core of this program and help students to understand the natural world around them. Further study in research, natural science, hypothesis development, experimentation, and forming conclusions builds an appreciation for exploration and learning.
Elective classes including history, humanities and foreign languages will enhance the learning experience and give Liberal Arts’ students a better understanding of what concentration and future degree best fits their personal career path.
